RARE, OLD EXPERIMENTAL RADIO, 2-VOLT

Here is a rare, old experimental
radio that is operated by batteries. This "superheterodyne
receiver" is Model 501 and it is in a beautiful, inlaid wood
case. It likely dates from before 1930. It is complete (radio
needs restoration) and the case is in remarkably good condition
with only a few scratches and marks from age and wear. On the
bottom, there are detailed instructions for 3-volt dry "A"
battery operation, and 2-volt wet storage battery operation. The
on-off switch is on the right side, and the speaker, dial, station
selector and fine-tuning controls are on the front. This radio
would be a great gift for anyone who rebuilds old radios. It would
also be a wonderful decorative item to add warmth, history and
character to a home or office. It measures about 11.5" wide,
is 8.5" tall, and is 6.5" deep.
